ACUVUE® Contact Lenses
What people ask most before choosing, ordering, or switching contact lenses.
Is ACUVUE a Johnson & Johnson brand?
Yes. ACUVUE is the contact lens brand of Johnson & Johnson Vision, the company that introduced the world's first mass-produced disposable soft contact lens in 1987. It remains one of the most widely prescribed contact lens brands among U.S. eye care professionals.
See our full ACUVUE lineup →Why does VISIONMOOD carry ACUVUE as our primary contact lens brand?
We chose ACUVUE for the breadth of its portfolio — daily, 2-week, and monthly options, each available in single vision, toric, and multifocal designs — along with lens technologies like HydraLuxe and HydraMax engineered specifically for all-day hydration and comfort.
Find your ACUVUE match →What makes some contact lenses "healthier" than others?
The biggest factors are how much oxygen reaches the cornea, which depends on the lens material, and how well the lens holds onto moisture throughout the day, since dryness drives most discomfort and buildup. ACUVUE's silicone hydrogel lenses, including the HydraLuxe and HydraMax technologies, are built around both of these factors.
Ask which technology fits your eyes →Where are ACUVUE contact lenses manufactured?
The large majority of ACUVUE lenses sold in the U.S., including much of the OASYS family, are manufactured at Johnson & Johnson Vision's facility in Jacksonville, Florida — one of the largest contact lens production sites in the world.
Explore the ACUVUE portfolio →What's the difference between single vision, toric, and multifocal contact lenses?
Single vision lenses correct one prescription power across the whole lens, for people who are simply nearsighted or farsighted. Toric lenses are shaped and weighted to correct astigmatism, where the eye's curve isn't perfectly round. Multifocal lenses blend multiple powers into one lens, similar to progressive glasses, for people who need both near and distance correction.
Find your lens type →What is monovision, and how is it different from multifocal?
Monovision uses two single-vision lenses — one eye fitted for distance, the other for near — so your brain learns to favor whichever eye suits what you're looking at. Multifocal lenses instead blend multiple powers into both eyes at once. Which one feels more natural varies person to person, and we help you compare the two during your fitting.
Ask about monovision fitting →Which ACUVUE lens is right for me if I have astigmatism?
ACUVUE offers toric, for astigmatism, versions across its daily, 2-week, and monthly lines — including ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day for Astigmatism, 1-DAY ACUVUE MOIST for Astigmatism, and ACUVUE VITA for Astigmatism — so astigmatism doesn't limit you to a single wear schedule.
Find your toric lens match →Can I get daily disposable lenses if I have a more complex prescription, like toric or multifocal?
Yes. ACUVUE's daily disposable line includes both toric and multifocal designs, including combined options for astigmatism with presbyopia, so a more complex prescription doesn't rule out the convenience of daily lenses.
See daily options for your prescription →How much do ACUVUE contact lenses cost?
Cost depends on your specific lens type, wear schedule, and supply length, so rather than a flat price list, we put together an accurate quote based on your prescription and preferences. Every 30-day supply includes 10 bonus lenses, and every 90-day supply includes 30 bonus lenses, at no extra cost.
Get your personalized quote →Can I order contact lenses through VISIONMOOD online?
Yes. Use our lens match tool to select your lens type and supply, then send your request along with a photo of your current prescription. We'll confirm your order and send a payment-ready invoice within about 5 minutes.
Start your order →Can I order contact lenses with an old or expired prescription?
No — U.S. law requires a valid, current contact lens prescription before any lenses can be filled, since a contact lens fit isn't the same as a glasses prescription, and contact lens prescriptions typically expire after one to two years. If yours has expired, we can get you in for a quick contact lens fitting to renew it.
Book a contact lens fitting →Are there any savings on ACUVUE lenses at VISIONMOOD?
Beyond ACUVUE's own periodic manufacturer promotions, every order through VISIONMOOD includes our standing bonus: 10 extra lenses with any 30-day supply, and 30 extra lenses with any 90-day supply, automatically included in your quote.
Get your quote with bonus lenses →I'm out of contacts and staying nearby — can you help right away?
